The staff, students, parents and community of Chandler Elementary commit to providing all students with a safe learning environment that nurtures and fosters mutual respect for all in the least restrictive environment, in order to meet academic and social standards in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society.
Our Mission
The mission of Chandler Elementary is to provide a challenging, enriching, and safe learning environment for all students through rigorous, technological, and differentiated standards-based instruction, in order to prepare them for the 21st century.
Chandler Elementary staff will:
- Provide an environment conducive to academic and social learning that is rigorous and challenging for each student.
- Foster an environment that celebrates and promotes maximum growth and development of children.
- Provide all students with an instructional program that teaches to all modalities and multiple intelligences' and that addresses individual needs of all students through differentiated instruction and specialized services.
- Utilize technology to enhance student learning and instruction.
- Instill an interest in, and an eagerness for, learning, permitting children to realize their fullest potential.
- Empower staff, students and parents with skills, strategies, and techniques that will enable them to continue as life-long learners.
About Chandler
Chandler is a CA Distinguished school, in Sherman Oaks. We believe a complete education includes academics and a strong foundation for a student's social growth and well-being. Our teachers ensure our students are not just succeeding, but thriving in every area of their development. Our students excel in a culturally diverse setting, and have opportunities to explore their unique talents and reach their potential as individuals. Administrators, parents, educators, support staff and community members, all join to help our students thrive in a warm, supportive environment. Charlie the Cheetah, our school mascot, encourages our students to be healthy, respectful, kind and safe. Chandler has been home to several local, district and state level Teachers of the Year. Chandler's PTA is a recipient of the 31st District Unit of the Year Award.
Chandler Garden
All students rotate throughout the Garden during the year. Lessons are taught, students learn to grow and take care of vegetables and then eat them!

All Kids Bike
A national movement to place Kindergarten PE Learn to Ride Programs into elementary schools. Kindergarten classes at Chandler have this experience.
